The beach economy is unusually good at the front half of ecommerce. Photography, launches, audiences, collaborations, a founder who is also the face of the label. Swim, eyewear, skincare, resortwear, fragrance, supplements sold to a following built two blocks from the water. The catalog looks expensive because it was shot expensively, and it converts.
The back half is where the island stops cooperating. Miami Beach is a seven-mile sandbar of hotels, condo towers, restaurants and retail. There is no industrial district, no freight corridor, no cheap bay behind the storefront. The nearest place a semi can legally and comfortably unload is on the other side of Biscayne Bay.
So inventory ends up where it should never be: under a bed on Meridian, in a hallway closet on Collins, in a rented office at Sunset Harbour that is now half stockroom. Then Amazon issues a restock limit, a container lands, and the plan collapses into an afternoon of labeling on a kitchen counter.
Since January 2026 that afternoon is also unavoidable if you skip a prep partner. Amazon stopped offering FBA prep and item labeling in the United States, and inventory that shows up unprepped and then goes missing or arrives damaged falls outside reimbursement. Somebody applies the barcode. The only question is whether that somebody has a scanner and a dock.

He is right. Residential towers and boutique offices have no dock, no forklift and no space to stage a pallet. Change the consignee address to our Medley warehouse and the delivery problem disappears at the source instead of being solved on the phone.
Beach square footage is the most expensive storage in the county and the least suited to it. Reserve stock moves onto our racks, you pay monthly for the footprint you actually occupy, and the apartment goes back to being an apartment.
Creator-led brands change packaging and launch dates faster than a remote network can absorb. Being 16 miles away means a question gets answered the same morning, and if you want to watch your product get bagged, you can drive over and watch.

Plan on 30 to 35 minutes from Mid-Beach in ordinary weekday traffic. The clean line is 41st Street west onto the Julia Tuttle Causeway (I-195), which feeds directly into SR 112 across I-95, then north on the Palmetto (SR 826) to the NW 103rd Street exit. Our dock at 8871 NW 102nd St sits a few blocks off that ramp. From South Beach add ten minutes for the surface streets before you reach a causeway.
From 41st Street and everything north of it, the Julia Tuttle is the obvious choice because it hands you straight to SR 112 with no downtown surface driving. From South of Fifth and the Washington Avenue area, take MacArthur (I-395) toward downtown and pick up I-95 north to SR 112. Skip the Venetian entirely: it is a toll route with a weight limit and bascule spans that open on schedule, which is exactly the wrong bridge to be sitting on with a car full of inventory.
That is the normal setup for our beach clients. Give your supplier, freight forwarder or drayage company our Medley address as the consignee and send us the purchase order. Freight up to a 53 foot trailer backs into our door, gets counted against your PO, and anything that arrived crushed or short is photographed and reported before prep starts. Your building never sees a pallet jack, and no one has to negotiate with a valet lane.

You send Amazon what the sell-through justifies and keep the rest here, which means your apartment stops being a stockroom and your restock limit stops being the ceiling on how much you can buy.
Yes, and for a lot of Miami Beach brands that is the whole point. One counted pool of your product sits on our floor. FBA shipments get FNSKU labeled, bagged and case packed on your trigger, while social-commerce and webstore orders pick from the same locations and go out with carriers. Those three are close to a house specialty here. Apparel and swim need poly bags carrying the suffocation warning, folded consistently so listing photos match what arrives. Eyewear needs a bag or box that survives the pick face and a barcode that does not cover the temple print. Skincare needs leak protection, expiration date labels where Amazon calls for them, and FNSKU placement that leaves the ingredient panel readable.
Under roughly ten cartons and it is usually a coin flip, so do whatever protects your calendar. Above that, driving beats paying parcel rates to move boxes 16 miles. The real answer for most beach brands is that neither should be routine. Once suppliers deliver to Medley directly, the question of who carries the boxes over a bridge stops existing.
Receiving does not need you present. We take delivery against your PO, count it, photograph anything damaged and email the receiving report. If prep instructions are already on file, the work begins without waiting for you to land. Beach brands run on shoot schedules and buying trips, so unattended receiving is the default here rather than a favor.
Ours is a commercial warehouse on the mainland in an industrial corridor rather than a ground floor unit or a garage on a barrier island, and stock sits racked off the slab instead of stacked in a closet. What we will say plainly is that a June to November plan that ends with someone hand carrying cartons over a causeway is not a plan.
